The grievances of the employees, who are being transferred on bifurcation, from CGM Office, Hyderabad to the CGM Office, Vijayawada, were already discussed with the PGM (Pers.), BSNL CO and with the Director (HR). Once again a discussion took place on this issue between Ms. Sujata T. Ray, Director (HR) and com. P. Abhimanyu, GS. Com. S. Chellappa, AGS, was also present. Once again BSNLEU pointed out that without considering the other available options, the Management is punishing the employees of CGM Office, Telangana, by way of forcibly transferring them to Andhra Pradesh circle. The Union representatives also suggested the alternative options. The Director (HR) agreed that the issue could be further discussed.

Com. Mohanan, Circle Secretary, BSNLEU, Kerala, retired from BSNL service yesterday. A lot of rumours are going on, with regards to the reduction of the retirement age of BSNL employees from 60 to 58. Com.P.Abhimanyu,GS and com.S.Chellappa, AGS, met Ms.Sujata Ray, Director (HR) today, and discussed the issue. It seems that recently, the DoT has told the BSNL Management to consider reducing the retirement age from 60 to 58, with a view to reduce the expenditure, since the Company has been declared as "Insipiently Sick". So far, the BSNL Management has not taken any decision on this. The GS and AGS firmly told the Director (HR) that any attempt to reduce the retirement age would be stiffly opposed. CHQ requests our comrades not to listen to rumours and also not to spread any rumour. In the past also, government tried to implement VRS and CRS on many occasions.
