Adesh Kumar Gupta, who is working as the PGM, Faridabad, Haryana, has been arrested with two other officers, Kamal Mewani, AGM and Shankar Verma, JTO. It may be recollected that Adesh Kumar Gupta is the person, who was involved in the murder of Com. Sukendar Pal Singh, the former BSNLEU district secretary of Ghaziabad. In the present case, the CBI has registered a case under section 120-B of IPC and Section 7 of PC Act, 1988, on a complaint received from a contractor. It was alleged that the contractor was awarded work related to provisioning of new broadband connections/maintenance of broadband services by the Office of the PGM, BSNL, Faridabad. On completion of the work, the contractor has submitted 32 bills, totalling Rs. 7,99,877 for the said work during the period November, 2017 to January, 2018. Adesh Kumar Gupta has demanded Rs 51,000 through the AGM, for passing the bills. It is noteworthy that on an earlier occasion also, Adesh Kumar Gupta, was arrested on corruption charges, when he was GM, Noida. However, he managed to become the the PGM of nearby Faridabad.
