In the meeting of the All Unions and Associations of BSNL, held today, it is decided that the strike notice for the two day strike to be held on 12th & 13th December, 2017, will be served on the CMD BSNL and the Secretary, DoT, on 23.11.2017.
The meeting of All Unions and Associations of BSNL, held today, has taken the decision that a meeting of all the circle secretaries of the unions and associations should be held on 18.11.2017. In that meeting, ways and means of effectively organising the human chain, as well as the two day strike, should be discussed and decisions should be taken. This decision has been taken since complaints are being received that there is no proper coordination between the circle secretaries of the unions and associations in some circles. Circle secretaries of BSNLEU are requested to take the initiative and to organise the meeting successfully, and to develop cordial relationship and better understanding between all the unions and associations. This is a must for strengthening our unity. Our unity and struggle alone can achieve wage revision, and can stop BSNL being broken to pieces, by forming a Subsidiary Tower Company.
All circle and district secretaries are requested to note that the date of the human chain programme is changed. It will now take place on 23.11.2017. The meeting of All Unions and Associations of BSNL, held today, has made this change, with a view to facilitate more time for the mobilisation. It is also decided that the human chain should be organised during lunch hour on 23.11.2017. Further, it is also decided that placards, containing our demands on wage revision and subsidiary tower company, should be prominently displayed during the human chain, with a view to take our message effectively to the public. CHQ requests all the circle and district unions to organise the programme effectively, in coordination with other unions and associations.

The three day relay dharna by the working class, started at New Delhi today. Tens of thousands of workers have assembled, from all over the country, and the Parliament Street, the venue of the dharna, has turned red. Slogans are being raised against the anti-worker and anti-people policies of the government. All the Central Trade Unions, as well as the independent trade unions of various sectors are participating in this dharna. There are around 40 lakh employees working in the IT sector throughout the country. Like the workers of other sectors, the workers of IT sector are also facing serious problems like, heavy work load, insecurity of job, etc. However, forming of trade union has been totally prohibited in the IT sector. Under these circumstances, the IT employees of Karnataka State have finally succeeded in forming a trade union, and also getting certificate from the Labour Commission. Karnataka State IT / ITES Employees Union has got the certificate from the Labour Commission of Karnataka, under the Trade Union Act 1926, and Karnataka Trade Unions Regulations, 1958. It is significant to note that, Karnataka State is the largest IT hub of the country, with 15 lakh employees. The KITU is presently having only 250 members. But it is for sure that, in future, the trade union movement in the IT sector will grow from strength to strength, because of the existence of high a degree of exploitation in the IT sector. BSNLEU heartily congratulates the KITU.
