The MoU between BSNL and Union Bank of India for taking various bank loans, expired in December last. BSNLEU has been continuously insisting upon the Corporate Office to renew the MoU. Finally, the MoU has been renewed and the same is uploaded.

Granting 1st promotion after 4 years, to the TSMs regularised after 01.10.2000.

Thousands of TSMs, who were regularised after 01.10.2000, were issued with ‘Presidential Orders’, due to the continuous efforts taken by BSNLEU. However, these officials were treated as DoT employees, so far as NEPP is concerned, and were given 1st promotion only on completion of 8 years of service. Citing a court order, BSNLEU demanded that all these officials should be given 1st promotion under NEPP, on completion of 4 years. Management agreed to this. However, the issue is not settled yet, due to non-receipt of the requisite input from circles. Hence, all circle secretaries are requested to take up this issue with their respective CGMs, and arrange to send to necessary inputs to the Corporate Office at the earliest.

29th and 30th March, to be working days in BSNL.

BSNL Corporate Office has issued letter to all the CGMs, stating that 29th and 30th March, 2018, will be working days for BSNL. This is to achieve the targets and to maximise cash flow. The letter says that compensatory off will be given for these holidays.

Corporate Office rejects BSNLEU's demand for implementation of mobile plan Rs.429/- to the Non-Executives.

BSNLEU has demanded that the mobile plan Rs.429/- should be implemented for the Non-Executives, in lieu of the existing Rs.200/- SIM. This issue was taken up in the National Council also, and the demand was accepted.  Thereafter, BSNLEU kept continuously writing letters to the Management, and held discussions also, for the early implementation of the decision. However, now, the Corporate Office has informed the General Secretary, BSNLEU, that implementation of this plan to the Non-Executives is not possible. The reason given is that, this mobile plan Rs.429/- is not permanent and keeps changing, and may be ultimately withdrawn also. This explanation of the Management cannot be accepted. The Management has accepted to implement this scheme to the Non-Executives. Hence, it must be implemented.

Corporate Office letter regarding implementation of the Supreme Court order on recovery of excess payments.

The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India has directed that excess payments, wrongly made in the past, should not be recovered from the salaries of Non-Executive employees. BSNLEU has taken up this issue in the National Council, and has also written a number of letters to the Corporate Management, demanding implementation of the Supreme Court judgement. Now, the Corporate Office, in it’s letter addressed to the CGMs, has clarified that circles are authorised to take decision on excess payment due to wrong fixation of pay in case of Non-Executives which are done prior to 06.02.2014. In view of this circle unions are requested to take up such cases with their respective CGMs immediately.

Original certificates of employees should not be retained by BSNL authorities.

In many instances, original certificates of employees, especially new entrants, are retained by BSNL authorities and are returned to the employees only after a specified period. The Corporate Office has now issued letter that BSNL has not issued any order for such actions. Hence, all certificates should be returned to the employees, immediately after verification, says the letter.
