Labour Bureau repeatedly delays announcement of the All India Consumer Price Index – is it a strategy to deny future IDA increase?

One installment of IDA has become due for the employees w.e.f. 01.01.2025. However, the Labour Bureau has not so far announced the All India Consumer Price Index for the month of November, 2024. Hence, we are unable to calculate and inform the expected increase of IDA w.e.f. 01.01.2025. It is very important to note that, every time the Labour Bureau is delaying the increase in the All India Consumer Price Index. This has never happened earlier. When the Labour Bureau delayed announcing the Consumer Price Index, BSNLEU took it to the notice of the Hon’ble Labour Minister, by writing letter and requested for his intervention for the timely announcement of the All India Consumer Price Index, so that payment of IDA will not be delayed for the employees. Continuously delay in the announcement of All India Consumer Price Index by the Labour Bureau may be a strategy of the government to deny the periodic payment of IDA to the employees.
