As per the data released by the TRAI, BSNL has lost 1,00,707 mobile subscribers in July, 2025. Vodafone idea lost 3,59,199 mobile subscribers during the same period. India's biggest company, Reliance Jio, gained 4,82,954 mobile subscribers and the second biggest company, Airtel, added 4,64,437 mobile subscribers in July, 2025. BSNL's 1 lakh mobile BTSs, supplied by the TCS, are almost commissioned. Still, instead of gaining more mobile subscribers, consequent to it's 4G network roll out, BSNL continues to suffer and lose lakhs of mobile subscribers every month, due to the poor quality of it's 4G service. BSNL's customers continue to complain that, they are even unable to speak voice calls. TCS has not been able to solve these problems faced by BSNL's customers. BSNLEU has written many letters to the Hon'ble Minister of Communications and the Secretary, Telecom. However, not much improvement has come. This is the problem being suffered by BSNL, in the name of "Swadeshi Technology". Jio and Airtel have procured their 4G and 5G equipments from foreign companies and are providing good quality service to their customers. This is how BSNL is being denied a level playing field. The ultimate sufferers are BSNL's employees, who are being denied wage revision and other benefits, citing the poor financial condition of the Company.
