BSNLEU organised heroic struggles to settle the demands of JE cadre.

BSNLEU has taken all out efforts in the Wage Revision Committee, to get justified pay scales for all the Non-Executive cadres, including the JE cadre. From 2022 up to 2025 we have taken efforts to improve the shorter pay scales offered by the Management. However, due to the adamant attitude of the BSNL Management, we were not able to get the justified pay scales.

 

Apart from discussing in the Wage Revision Committee, BSNLEU organised many agitational programmes to settle the Wage Revision and also other burning problems of the JE cadre. Apart from many demonstrations, two powerful dharnas were organised at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi. BSNLEU has also organised two strikes on 16.02.2024 and on 09.07.2025, in which Wage Revision is the number one demand. Other important demands are New Promotion Policy for the Non-Executives and Review of the anti-employee Restructuring Scheme. All these are the important demands of JE cadre also. Com.Suresh Kumar, GS, SNATTA and his other leaders of SNATTA did not participate in these strikes. Why? It is because of the fear of victimisation and pay cut, that Suresh Kumar did not participate in the strikes. At the same time, a good number of DR JEs throughout the country have participated in these strikes. It is only BSNLEU which has organised heroic struggles for the settlement of the important demands of JE cadre.

 

Restructuring of Manpower Scheme is a very big attack on all the cadres, especially the JE cadre. JEs are unable to get Rule-8 transfers and are denied of the opportunity to appear in JTO LICE. It is only because of massive abolition of posts under the Restructuring Scheme. However, only BSNLEU fought against the Restructuring Scheme. On this issue also, SNATTA remained as a silent-spectator.
