The off-net call facility (limited to Rs.50/-) that has been extended on an experimental basis, lapsed months ago. BSNLEU has consistently been urging the Management to re-introduce the off-net call facility. The Corporate Office has been delaying taking a decision, under the pretext of getting inputs from circles. However, due to the consistent pressure exerted by BSNLEU, finally the Corporate Office has issued order today, extending off-net call facility (limited to Rs.50/-) in Rs.200/- SIM.

The BSNL Corporate Office has formed a five member Core Committee”, in connection with the 8th Membership Verification of the Non-Executives. Shri Arun Kumar,PGM(Pers) is the Leader and Shri A.K.Sinha, DGM(SR) is the Convenor of this Committee. This Committee will represent BSNL Management in the meetings with the Chief Labour Commissioner and with other agencies.

2,700 candidates were selected in the 2016 DR JE recruitment. Among these candidates, many did not appear for document verification, or did not report for training after getting selected. The Corporate Office is in the process of filling up such unfilled vacancies. BSNLEU has also demanded to fill up the unfilled vacancies of Tamil Nadu circle without delay. In this connection, the Corporate Office has released a list of 257 DR JE candidates, who are to be appointed against the unfilled vacancies.     

Consequent to the issuing of the Notification for holding the 8th Membership Verification, the Corporate Office has issued letter, stating that, transfers are to be kept under abeyance, till the 8th Membership Verification is completed. However, the Corporate Office has given certain exemptions for issuing transfers. The BSNL Corporate Office has issued the notification for holding the 8th Membership Verification. Accordingly, the polling for the 8th Membership Verification will be held on 16.09.2019. The BSNL Corporate Office has issued fresh instructions to be followed w.e.f. 01^st August, 2020, in the context of COVID-19 pandemic situation. This letter stipulates that, all Circle Offices shall work with full attendance w.e.f. 01.08.2020. The employees residing in Containment Zones will be permitted to work from home.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued fresh guidelines on 29^th July, 2020, to be implemented w.e.f. 01^st August, 2020. The letter contains guidelines regarding activities which are permitted, as well as not permitted, inside the Containment Zone and outside the Containment Zone.

BSNL endorses order of the Ministry of Personal, Public Grievances and Pensions (Department of Personal and Training) for declaring 14th April as holiday on account of the birth day of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

The DPE has issued letter, incorporating the government order, to enhance the ceiling of gratuity, to be paid to Public Sector employees. The ceiling is enhanced from Rs.10 lakh to Rs.20 lakh.

BSNLEU had sought a Formal Meeting with the Director(HR) to discuss certain important issues. The meeting has been delayed due to certain unavoidable reasons. The Corporate Office has now issued notice to hold this meeting on 13-01-2020.
