BSNLEU writes to Shri Amit Yadav, Joint Secretary (Admn.), DoT, urging upon early settlement of the anomalies issue.

BSNLEU is continuously persuing settlement of the anomalies / aberrations issue for the past so many years. Many developments have taken place in this regard. The present position is that, the BSNL Management has sent a proposal for the settlement of the issue. In turn, the DoT called for certain inputs from the BSNL Management. Since, the CGMs did not provide the requisite inputs on time, BSNL Corporate Office was also not able to furnish the same to the DoT. Due to the repeated interventions of BSNLEU, the BSNL Corporate Office has recently sent the needful inputs to the DoT. In continuation of this, BSNLEU has written to Shri Amit Yadav, Joint Secretary (Admn.), DoT, urging upon him for an early settlement of the issue.

Immediately allot the requisite OFC to J&K circle -- BSNLEU writes to the Director (CFA), BSNL.

J&K circle is facing acute shortage of optical fibre cables, for carrying out the projected works. CGM, J&K has written to the Corporate Office, more than one month back, requesting for the supply of OFC. No action is taken by the Corporate Office. Hence, BSNLEU has written to the Director (CFA), demanding early action.

BSNLEU once again writes to the Member (Finance), DoT, demanding justice to the BSNL employees who are suffering loss in pension in Maharashtra circle.

A section of the Sr.TOAs who are promoted from 5700-160-8100 pay scale to 7100-200-10100 pay scale, under the One Time Bond Promotion (OTBP Scheme), are suffering loss in pension, due to the wrong interpretation of the CCA, Maharashtra. BSNLEU has already met Shi P.K. Sinha, Member (Finance), DoT, on 12.02.2020 and has explained that, this problem had arisen only in Maharashtra circle and in no other circle. BSNLEU has requested the Member (Finance) to intervene in this matter and to render justice to the affected employees. Thereafter, BSNLEU wrote another letter on 13.03.2020 to the Member (Finance) on this matter. Since, the affected employees continue to suffer, BSNLEU has once again written to the Member (Finance), soliciting his immediate intervention.

As per the decisions taken in the meeting held at New Delhi on 04-10-2017, the All Unions and Associations of BSNL have served notice today, to the Secretary, DoT and CMD BSNL, for conducting agitational programme on the issues of Wage Revision and Subsidiary Tower Company. All circle and district secretaries are requested to seriously mobilise the employees, for making the struggles successful.

BSNLEU demands review of the results of the recently conducted JE LICE, in respect of the failed SC/ST candidates, based on the DoT order.

As per the DoT letter no.22-5/91-NCG dated 30.11.1992 and BSNL CO letter no.9-2/2016-Rectt. dated 28.08.2017, SC candidates securing 20% in each paper, and ST candidates securing 15% in each paper, should be considered as qualified in the LICEs. As per these letters, there is no provision for aggregate marks. However, for the recently conducted JE LICE, aggregate marks is prescribed as 30%, which is not applicable for the SC/ST candidates. In view of this, BSNLEU has written to the GM (Rectt.) of the BSNL Corporate Office, demanding review of the results of the failed SC / ST candidates of the recently conducted JE LICE, strictly in accordance with the DoT and BSNL CO letter numbers cited above.

विगत 3 वर्षों से JAO LICE नही हुई है। इसके न होने का कारण JAO RR में किए गए संशोधनों का अनुमोदन न होना बताया गया है। BSNLEU ने RR की कठिन (stringent)  शर्तों को हटाते हुए कुछ प्रमुख संशोधन ही किए जाने की मांग की है। हमारे द्वारा लगातार किए जा रहे रिमाइंडर्स के बावजूद न ही संशोधनों को इनकॉरपोरेट किया गया है और न ही JAO LICE आयोजित की गई है। BSNLEU ने एक बार पुनः डायरेक्टर (HR) को पत्र लिख कर, JAO RR में  आवश्यक संशोधन पश्चात, JAO LICE शीघ्र करने की मांग की है।

BSNLEU writes to the Director (Finance) on the non-payment of wages to contract workers.

The General Secretary, BSNLEU, has written to Shri S.K. Gupta, Director (Finance), about the non-payment of wages to the contract workers for the past 4 months. The General Secretary has pointed out that the families of the contract workers are facing starvation and has urged upon the Director (Finance) to arrange to release funds for the payment.

BSNLEU protests DoT’s arbitrary action to freeze the Dearness Relief of BSNL pensioners.

The DPE has already approved payment of Dearness Relief to the BSNL pensioners @160.7%, w.e.f. 01.04.2020. However, the DoT has issued letter today, directing to pay Dearness Relief only at the rate as existed on 01.01.2020 (@157.3%) to those BSNL employees who retire in April,2020. This action of the DoT is arbitrary and violation of rules. BSNLEU has written a letter to Shri Anshu Prakash, Secretary, Telecom, today, demanding immediate withdrawal of this letter and payment of Dearness Relief @160.7% even to those who retire in April, 2020.

BSNLEU writes to the GM (Estt.), demanding removal of hurdles for the deduction of GPF subscription from TSMs.

One of the facilities extended to the casual labourers with Temporary Status (TSMs), is their eligibility to the GPF scheme. All along, GPF subscription was being deducted from their monthly wages. However, after the introduction of ERP, this has been stopped. The reason is, there is no provision in the ERP, for the deduction of GPF subscription from TSMs. Hence, BSNLEU has written to the GM (Estt.), BSNL CO., demanding appropriate action for the removal of the hurdles.

BSNLEU demands withdrawal of the tainted MP's nomination to the TAC of Kolkata Telephones circle.

The central government has nominated shri Kunal Ghosh, MP, to the Telephone Advisory Committee of Kolkata Telephones circle. This MP has been arrested by the CBI, in connection with the Saradha scam. He was in jail, and was granted indefinite bail only last Friday. On one side, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is making high decibel speeches against corruption. On the other side, the government is patronising politicians who are involved in massive scams. BSNLEU has written to the Secretary, DoT, demanding immediate withdrawal of the nomination of shri Kunal Ghosh.

Declaration of the WFTU - TUI meeting held at Kolkata.

The World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) and the ten Trade Union Internationals affiliated to it, held a two day meeting at Kolkata on 09th and 10th October, 2017. The meeting conducted detailed discussions on the attacks being carried out on the working class in various countries, and also the struggles being organised to defeat those attacks. At the end of the discussions, the meeting has passed the following declaration.

JE LICE held on 28.01.2018 - review the results of the failed SC / ST candidates without further delay - demands BSNLEU.

BSNLEU, vide it’s letter dated 23.05.2018, has already demanded that the results of the failed SC/ST candidates, who appeared in the JE LICE held on 28.01.2018, should be reviewed. The Corporate Office, vide letter no.9-2/2016-Rectt. dated 28.08.2017, has laid down the rule that, the results of the SC candidates who have secured at least 20% marks and ST candidates who have secured at least 15% marks, in each paper, should be reviewed. Further, no minimum aggregate mark has been prescribed in this letter. BSNLEU has once again written to the GM (Rectt.) today that, based on the above mentioned letter of the Corporate Office, the results of the failed SC/ST candidates should be reviewed without further delay.
