BSNLEU writes to the CMD BSNL on the massive scam that has taken place in NOFN works at Jorhat SSA, Assam circle.

It has come to the notice of the CHQ that a massive scam has taken place in the NOFN works carried out at Jorhat district of Assam circle. The accused in the scam, who was the GM of Jorhat has been allowed to retire and take full terminal benefits, even after alert has reportedly been issued to the CGM, Assam circle. Further, the Ex.GM, Jorhat has also been allowed to come to the office and to tamper the records and evidences, even after his retirement. CHQ has demanded expeditious action by the CMD BSNL in this scam.

BSNLEU demands allotment of more funds to Keala circle to manage the flood situation.

Due to the continuous rains and floods in Kerala circle, BSNL’s cables, equipments and installations are severely damaged. To manage the power cut situation, diesel engines are being extensively used. BSNLEU has written to the CMD BSNL, demanding allotment of sufficient funds to Kerala circle for repairing the damaged cables, equipments, etc., and also to procure sufficient diesel to keep the services running.

BSNLEU writes to the CMD BSNL, expressing it's displeasure over the last minute telephonic invitation to the Sanchar Sewa Padak Award giving ceremony.

The Sanchar Sewa Padak Award-2018 was held in the BSNL Corporate Office on 27.12.2019. Since, trade unions play constructive role in improving the efficiency of the services and customer satisfaction, it goes without saying that Recognised Trade Union should be invited to these functions in the appropriate manner. However, the Corporate Office is in the habit of only giving last minute telephonic invitation to the Recognised Union. BSNLEU has written to the CMD BSNL, expressing it's displease and requesting to ensure that Recognsied Trade Union is invited in the appropriate manner.

BSNLEU writes to the CMD BSNL on granting of 1st promotion under NEPP, on completion of four years.

BSNLEU is continuously demanding that the TSMs regularised after 01.10.2000 should be granted 1st promotion under NEPP, on completion of four years. In this connection, BSNLEU is also continuously pressing upon the BSNL Management to implement the Court order. Once again BSNLEU has written to the CMD BSNL on this issue.

BSNLEU has written to the CMD BSNL, demanding not to collect fee from the Internal Candidates appearing in the forthcoming Telecom Technician LICE.

The Corporate Office has decided to collect fee from the Internal Candidates, who are appearing in the forthcoming Telecom Technician LICE. The quantum of fee will be Rs. 500 for General / OBC candidates, and Rs.250 for SC/SC candidates. BSNLEU has opposed this collection of fee from Internal Candidates, and has written to the CMD BSNL. For the exam held in 2017 also, Management decided to collect RS.750 from General/OBC candidates and Rs.500 from SC/ST candidates. However, due to the intervention of BSNLEU, that decision was given up.

BSNLEU writes to the CMD BSNL, demanding immediate remittance of deductions made from salaries, on account of GPF, society, bank loan EMI, LIC premium, union subscription, etc.

The deductions being made from the salaries of the employees, on account of GPF, society, bank loan EMI, LIC premium, etc., are not being remitted to the concerned organisations, ever since May, 2019. As a result of this, the employees, especially the lower ranking employees, are suffering extremely due to the non-availability of GPF and society loans. Banks are issuing default notice and levying penal interests. Families of the deceased employees are not getting settlement of LIC policies. Unions / associations are also not getting subscription amount. The Corporate Management is adopting a very casual approach in remitting these amounts. BSNLEU has written to the CMD BSNL, demanding immediate remittance of these amounts, failing which struggles would become unavoidable.

Notification issued for the CEC meeting.

The next Central Executive Committee meeting of BSNLEU is being held at Vadodara, on 6th and 7th March, 2020. The CHQ has issued the requisite notification today, for holding this CEC meeting. Since this meeting will be discussing and taking important decisions connected with the post VRS scenario, all the Circle Secretaries and Central Office bearers are requested to attend the meeting without fail.

Widespread damaging of BSNL's cables - BSNLEU's complaint to CMD BSNL is taken up seriously.

On 19-01-2018, BSNLEU wrote to the CMD BSNL, complaining about the indifferent attitude of the BSNL authorities at circle and district levels, in the matter of our cables being damaged. Com.P.Abhimanyu,GS, met shri Anupam Shrivastava on 19.01.2018, and seriously raised the issue. The General Secretary told the CMD BSNL that the general impression is that none will bother, if BSNL's cable is damaged, and this the reason why BSNL's are being damaged mindlessly. He demanded that BSNL authorities at various levels should take sufficient deterrent actions immediately, to stop widespread damages being caused to the Company's cables. The CMD BSNL has taken BSNLEU's complaint seriously. Letter has been addressed to all the CGM's, directing them to take suitable action on this matter. Together with this, letters written by BSNLEU, to the CMD BSNL, as well as to the then MoC & IT, are also attached. Utilising this step taken by the Corporate Office, circle and district secretaries are requested to take up this issue with their respective levels of the Management, so that necessary measures are taken to safeguard our cables.

BSNLEU writes to the CMD BSNL, demanding to grant one extra increment to the left-out Non-Executives who suffered wage loss.

BSNL Management, vide it’s letter dated 08.01.2019, has granted relief to the left-out Non-Executives, appointed between 01.01.2007 and 07.05.2010, and who suffered wage loss. Vide the above mentioned letter, the actual wage loss suffered by the employees will be compensated. Whereas, the same BSNL Management has granted one extra increment to the TTAs, who were appointed  between 01.01.2007 and 07.05.2010, and who suffered wage loss. Thus, the BSNL Management has adopted discriminatory approach in respect of the left-out Non-Executives. BSNLEU has written to the CMD BSNL, demanding to end this discrimination, by granting one extra increment to the left out Non-Executives also.

GPF advance / withdrawal is not paid to the employees this month. BSNLEU has already drawn the attention of Director (Finance), as well as the GM (BFCI). Further, BSNLEU has written to the CMD BSNL, demanding action on this issue. GS, BSNLEU, has also drawn the personal attention of the CMD BSNL on this matter.

No necessity to make review on the continuation of local council for Civil & Electrical Wing employees -- BSNLEU writes to the GM (SR).

The SR Branch of the Corporate Office has sought the view of BSNLEU, with regards to the discontinuation of separate local council for the Civil & Electrical Wing staff. BSNLEU has written to the GM (SR), stating that a review need not be made at this point of time, but can be discussed on the eve of the next Membership Verification.

The statement of Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Honb’le Minister of Communications and IT, has instilled hope in the minds of all those, who desire that the BSNL should be revived. He has stated that BSNL and MTNL should remain healthy in the interest of the Nation. Welcoming the statement of the Honb’le Minister, BSNLEU has written to him, drawing his attention to some of the crucial issues, being faced by BSNL and it’s employees.

Implementation of the judgement of Hon'ble CAT, Lucknow Bench, on the pay scale and status of Senior Accountants.

This issue was discussed in the 35th meeting of the National Council held on 11.05.2017. However, no decision was taken in view of the appeal, said to have been filed in the Hon’ble High Court. BSNLEU is in receipt of DoT orders, wherein clear cut direction is given by the DoT for implementation of pay scale and for according of Group ‘B’ status to the Senior Accountants. Letter is written to the Director (HR) for early implementation of the DoT orders.

BSNLEU writes to Shri Piush Goyal, Finance Minister, demanding settlement of BSNL pension contribution issue.

BSNL’s pension contribution issue remains to be unsettled. Despite the assurance given by Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble MoSC, on 24.02.2018, that the Government of India Rule will be made applicable in respect of BSNL, the issue remains unresolved.  BSNLEU has written to Shri Piush Goyal, Finance Minister, drawing his attention to this issue, and demanding to take immediate decision for payment of pension contribution by BSNL, based on the actual basic pay, instead of maximum of the pay scale.

AUAB writes to the Hon'ble Minister of State for Communications - Informs strike will become unavoidable due to the delay in the settlement of the 3rd Pay Revision.

As per the decision taken in meeting held yesterday, letter has been written to Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon'ble Minister of State for Communications, by the AUAB, communicating it's unhappiness over the delay in the settlement of the 3rd Pay Revision issues. In the letter, the AUAB has stated that it would be compelled to go on strike, if no positive outcome comes on the issue. The letter was delivered by hand to the Private Secretary to the Hon'ble Minister of State for Communications today, by the AUAB representatives.
