It is known to the entire world that, the BJP governments at the centre and in the states are using brutal force against the citizens who are peacefully protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), and the National Register of Citizens (NRC). Violence by any protester cannot be allowed. At the same time, action should be taken against them as per the law of the land. However, in states like Uttar Pradesh and Assam, where the BJP is the ruling party, protesters are being mercilessly shot down. The BJP President of West Bengal, Dilip Gosh, has taken pride in stating that the BJP governments have shot down the protesters like dogs. The mindset of the ruling BJP is well revealed by Dilip Gosh, who is a senior leader of that party.
The CHQ has already written to the Circle Secretaries, requesting to furnish membership details of BSNLEU, as well as the membership of various other unions and associations, consequent to the implementation of VRS in BSNL. So far, only the six circle unions viz., Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka have furnished the details. Hence, CHQ calls upon the remaining circle unions are also to furnish the requisite details by 20.01.2020.
Due to the implementation of VRS, 50% of the employees are retiring on 31.01.2020. Correspondingly, the membership of unions and associations will also be reduced. Hence, CHQ has already requested the circle secretaries to inform the district wise membership of BSNLEU. From February, 2020, onwards, Telecrusader and BSNL Swar will be despatched only based on the membership after 31.01.2020. Hence, all circle secretaries are requested to immediately send their district wise Membership. This may be treated as very urgent.
The 34 year old Sanna Marin of Finland, has the credit of being the youngest Prime Minister in the world. Together with this, Sanna Martin has also now become a labour friendly Prime Minister. She has implemented 4 day working week for the Finnish workers. Hereafter, Finnish workers need to work only 4 days in a week. The remaining 3 days will be "weekly off days" for them. Together with this, Sanna Martin has also implemented 6 hour work per day. Finnish experts have said that reduction of working days and working hours will increase the productivity of the workers to a great extent.
The one day General Strike has taken place in BSNL in a very adverse situation. The implementation of VRS and nearly 80,000 employees opting for it, has created extreme hardship for organising the General Strike. Despite all these difficulties, many circles have taken serious efforts to organise the strike. CHQ heartily congratulates all those circles. CHQ also salutes all the employees who have participated in the strike. Circle Secretaries are requested to immediately send a written report to the CHQ, on the strike. Total number of employees in the circle, number of employees participated in the strike and the campaign conducted to organise the strike may be mentioned in the report. Apart from that, the number of meetings conducted, leaflets distributed, posters printed may also be mentioned in the report. All Circle Secretaries are requested to send the report within a week.
The Indian working class is on a nationwide General Strike today, against the anti-worker Neo-Liberal Policies of the Narendra Modi government. BSNL employees are participating in this strike. BSNLEU salutes all the comrades participating in this Strike.
Deepika Padukone visited the JNU at around 7. 30 pm yesterday and expressed her solidarity with the students and teachers who were brutally attacked by the masked goons last Sunday. She stood with the students for around 15 minutes, to express her solidarity, though she did not address the gathering. The fact that, Deepika Padukone, one of India's topmost actors, has visited JNU and has expressed her silent protest against the barbaric attack on the students, has sent the right message to the nation.
An editorial in Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The Shiv Sena on Tuesday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, alleging that such “brutal politics” was never seen before in the country.
An editorial in Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ further alleged that the BJP wanted to see “Hindu-Muslim riots” over the Citizenship Amendment Act, but that did not happen. Since the BJP has been cornered over the issue of CAA, several things are happening out of “revenge”, it said. Comparing the attack on Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students to the 26/11 Mumbai terror strikes, the Shiv Sena said “divisive politics” was dangerous for the country.
“The fallout of JNU attack is being seen elsewhere in the country...what Modi and Shah want is happening. The country is in danger. Divisive politics is dangerous for the country,” the Uddhav Thackeray-led party said.
“Allowing blood stains in universities, colleges and beating up of students and indulging in politics over the burning situation...such brutal politics was never seen before,” the Marathi publication said while terming the attack on JNU students as a “blot” on the law and order situation.
