Human Chain programme – General Secretary participates at Chennai.

As per the call of the Co-ordination Committee of BSNLEU, AIBDPA and BSNLCCWF, Human Chain programme is being organised throughout the country today, against the National Monetisation Pipeline, handing over of BSNL’s mobile towers and optic fibre to the private and  also creating hurdles in BSNL’s 4G launching. Com.P.Abhimanyu, GS, who is presently touring various parts of the country, in connection with the 9th Membership Verification campaign, participated in the Human Chain programme at Chennai. A large number of comrades belonging to BSNLEU, AIBDPA and BSNLCCWF, participated in this Human Chain programme, organised outside the CGM’s office, Chennai Telephones circle. Placards carrying slogans against National Monetisation Pipeline, disinvestment and privatisation were displayed during the Human Chain programme. At the end of the Human Chain programme, Com.P.Abhimanyu, GS, Com.S. Chellappa, AGS and Com.Sridharasubramanian, Circle Secretary, Chennai, addressed the gathering.  Thunderous slogans were also raised during the Human Chain programme against the handing over of BSNL’s 14,917 mobile towers and optic fibre to the private.

BSNLEU, Surat district union organises 9th MV campaign.

BSNLEU, Surat district union organised a Membership Verification campaign meeting yesterday the 13.09.2022. Com.Mehul Patel, District Secretary, welcomed. The meeting was addressed by Com.John Verghese, Dy.GS, Com.V.P. Prajapathi, Circle Secretary and Com.M.K. Dave, Circle President. The Deputy General Secretary explained about the 2nd Revival Package, hurdles created by the government in BSNL’s 4G launching, handing over of BSNL’s mobile towers and OFC under the National Monetisation Pipeline. He also explained about the issues taken up and settled by BSNLEU.

West Bengal Circle Executive Committee meeting resolves to successfully implement the Mysuru CEC meeting decisions.

The West Bengal circle union organised it’s Executive Committee meeting at K.G.Bose Smrity Bhawan, Kolkata, on 10.09.2022. All the district secretaries and circle office bearers were present. Com.Animesh Mitra, Circle President, presided over and delivered the presidential address. Com.Sujoy Sarkar, Circle Secretary, presented the report on activities. Implementation of the decisions taken in the Mysuru Central Executive Committee meeting was the main agenda of discussion. All the circle executive committee members participated in the discussion. The meeting decided to implement the decisions of the Mysusu CEC meeting successfully, including the “Meet the Employees” campaign and the Human Chain programme.

Tamil Nadu and Chennai circle unions conduct combined extended executive committee meeting.

BSNLEU, Tamil Nadu circle and Chennai Telephones circle, conducted their combined Extended Circle Executive Committee meeting at Chennai today. BSNLEU’s red flag was hoisted by Com.S.Chellappa, AGS, BSNLEU. 350 comrades participated in this meeting. Com.A. Babu Radhakrishnan, Circle President, Tamil Nadu and Com.Basha, Circle President, Chennai, jointly presided over the meeting. Both the comrades briefly delivered the presidential address. Com.Shree Ganesh, ACS, Chennai Telephones circle, delivered the welcome address. Com.S. Chellappa, AGS, addressed the meeting and explained about the tasks connected with the 9th Membership Verification. Thereafter, Com.P.Abhimanyu, addressed the meeting elaborately. He explained about the false claims in connection with the 2nd Revival Package, roadblocks created by the government in BSNL’s 4G launching, the National Monetisation Pipeline, threatenings being given in respect of 2nd VRS, FR 56 (J) and increasing of working hours. The General Secretary also explained about the achievements of BSNLEU during the past 3 years. After the speech of the General Secretary, both the Tamil Nadu and Chennai Extended Circle Executive Committee meetings are held separately and discussed about the ways and means of obtaining maximum votes in the 9th Membership Verification.

BSNLWWCC organised it’s meeting online.

A meeting of the BSNL Working Women’s Co-ordination Committee was held online on 11.09.2022. Com.B. Baghyalakshmi, Joint Convenor, presided over. 10 comrades participated in this meeting. Com.Sharmila Data, welcomed everyone. Com.P. Indira, Convenor, presented the report on activities. Com.P.Abhimanyu, General Secretary, BSNLEU, addressed the meeting and explained about the various aspects connected with the 2nd Revival Package, BSNL’s 4G launching, National Monetisation Pipeline and also the achievements of BSNLEU during the past 3 years. Thereafter, all the comrades participated in the deliberations. Finally, Com.P.Indira, Convenor, summed up the discussions. Com.Banani Chattobadhyaya, Joint Convenor, proposed the vote of thanks. The decisions taken in the meeting are enclosed for the information of our comrades.

Telangana circle holds a highly successful Extended Circle Executive Committee meeting at Hyderabad.

The Extended Circle Executive Committee meeting of Telangana circle was held at Hyderabad today. The circle executive committee members, other active comrades, who had come from all over the circle, participated in this meeting. Com.J. Sampath Rao, Circle President & AGS presided over the meeting and delivered the presidential address. Com.Samabasivarao, Circle Secretary, welcomed everyone and presented his report on activities. Addressing the meeting, Com.P.Abhimanyu, GS, spoke on the present scenario prevailing in BSNL, including the announcement of the 2ndRevival Package, how the government is stopping BSNL from launching it’s 4G service, issues taken up and settled by BSNLEU in the last 3 years, functioning of BSNLEU during the Covid pandemic period, etc. The speech of the General Secretary was well received by the comrades. The comrades who participated in the deliberations, assured to make BSNLEU triumphant in the forthcoming 9th Membership Verification. A booklet of the Telugu translation of CHQ‘s election campaign material, was released by the General Secretary in the meeting.

The Karnataka circle union organised an inspiring Extended Circle Executive Committee meeting at Bengaluru today. Apart from the district secretaries and circle officer bearers, a large number of frontline comrades also participated this meeting. Com.C.K. Gundanna, Circle President, presided over the meeting. Com.H.V. Sudharshan, Circle Secretary, welcomed everyone and presented the report on activities. Com.P.Abhimanyu, GS, addressed the meeting and spoke at length on the hollow claims of the 2nd Revival Package, hurdles being created by the government in BSNL’s 4G service, the National Monetisation Pipeline, etc. The General Secretary also explained about the issues of the employees, taken up and settled by BSNLEU. Notification issued for holding Human Chain programme on 14.09.2022.

The Coordination Committee of BSNLEU, AIBDPA and the BSNLCCWF, has already given call to organise Human Chain Programme on 14.09.2022, demanding to drop the National Monetisation Pipeline and also demanding to remove the roadblocks created in the launching of BSNL’s 4G service. The copy of the notification is enclosed. All the circle and district unions are requested to organise the Human Chain programme effectively.

The Jharkhand circle conference is held successfully. 

The circle conference of BSNLEU, Jharkhand circle, was held at Ranchi yesterday the 09-09-2022. Com. Omkar Nath Prasad, circle president, presided over the conference. Com. Azad Kumar Prasad, circle secretary, welcomed everyone and presented his report on activities. There after, Com. Animesh Mitra, President, BSNLEU, delivered the inaugural address. He explained about the Revival Package, present situation of BSNL's 4G launching, the National Monitisation Pipeline and other issues. Thereafter, the delegates participated in the deliberations. Finally the election of office bearers took place unanimously.

BSNLEU, Uttarakhand circle, conducts a lively extended circle executive committee meeting.

The Extended Circle Executive Committee meeting of Uttarakhand circle is held at Dehradun today. Com.G.P.Kala, Circle President, presided over the meeting. Apart from the circle executive committee members, a good number of active comrades also participated in this meeting. Com.K.S. Soun, Circle Secretary, welcomed everyone and presented his report on activities. Thereafter, Com.P.Abhimanyu, GS, addressed the meeting. The General Secretary explained about the 2nd Revival Package, the road blocks created in BSNL’s 4G launching, proposed 2nd VRS, the proposals to sell BSNL’s towers and optic fibre and the National Monetisation Pipeline, attempts to increase the working hours, etc., were explained. The issues taken up and resolved by BSNLEU and also the efforts taken to resolve the very important issues of 3rd Wage Revision, stagnation, etc., were also explained by the General Secretary. Thereafter, the district secretaries and circle office bearers participated in the deliberations. The meeting concluded with the presidential address and vote of thanks.

Odisha circle organises a highly successful campaign meeting for the 9th Membership Verification..

The Extended Circle Executive Committee meeting of BSNLEU, Odisha circle is held at Bhubaneswar today. The meeting is held purely for the preparation of the 9th Membership Verification. Com. A Dhupal, Com.S.C. Bhattacharya, Com.P.K. Nayak, the senior leaders of BSNLEU, Odisha circle, also participated in this meeting. Com.S.R. Das, Circle President, presided over the meeting. Com. Kameswar Rao, Circle Secretary, welcomed everyone and explained about the purpose of holding the meeting. Apart from the circle executive committee members, a large number of active workers of BSNLEU participated in this meeting. Com.P.Abhimanyu, General Secretary, participated in this meeting and spoke at length about the present developments with regards to the revival of BSNL, 4G launching, 2nd Revival Package, etc. The General Secretary also explained about the achievements of BSNLEU after the last Membership Verification. He requested all the comrades to all out efforts to ensure the massive victory of BSNLEU in the forthcoming Membership Verification.

Com.Taruna Prakash Sethi, circle secretary, SNATTA, Odisha circle and Com.Rakesh Panda, AGS, SNATTA, attended BSNLEU’s meeting.

Com.Taruna Prakash Sethi, Circle Secretary, SNATTA, Odisha circle and Com. Rakesh Panda, AGS, SNATTA, attended BSNLEU’s election campaign meeting held at Bhubaneswar today. Both the comrades greeted Com.P.Abhimanyu, GS, with a bouquet. Com.Taruna Prakash Sethi, CS, SNATTA, addressed the meeting and raised the following two issues related to the DR JEs. 

 

(1)  A new Promotion Policy for the Non-Executives.

The GS BSNLEU replied that BSNLEU has already raised this issue in the Formal Meeting held with the Director (HR) on 13.06.2022. BSNLEU has demanded that the discrimination between the Executive Promotion Policy (EPP) and the Non-Executive Promotion Policy (NEPP) should be removed. BSNLEU has also demanded that, the number of years for getting promotions should be the same for both the employees absorbed from DoT and the employees Directly Recruited by the BSNL. 

 

(2)  Holding the JTO LICE every year.

The GS, BSNLEU, replied that, the issue has already been taken up with the Management and assured that, hereafter BSNLEU will ensure that, the JTO LICE is held every year.

JTO training of the candidates who have qualified in the JTO(T) LICE held on 07.08.2022..

The JTO(T) LICE (50% quota) was held on 07.08.2022. 549 candidates have passed in this JTO(T) LICE. Now, many qualified candidates are approaching the CHQ of BSNLEU, to find out when the JTO training of the qualified candidates will begin. Com.P.Abhimanyu, GS, discussed this issue with Ms. Samita Luthra, GM(Rectt.), BSNL C.O. The GM(Rectt.) replied that the Corporate Office is taking efforts to send the qualified candidates for JTO training at the earliest. Further, the GM(Rectt.) said that, hopefully their training will start by the end of October or the first week of November, 2022.

The SR Branch of the Corporate Office has released the final ballot paper, including election symbols for the conducting of the 9th Membership Verification of the Non-Executives, which is to be held on 12.10.2022.

Organise week long “Meet the Employees Campaign”, from 06th to 13th September, 2022.

The Mysuru CEC meeting has directed the circle and district unions to organise a week long “Meet the Employees Campaign”, from 06th to 13th September, 2022. In this campaign, the National Monetisation Pipeline, under which BSNL’s towers and optic fibre are being handed over to the private, the roadblocks being created by the Government in BSNL’s 4G launching, the false claims of the Government regarding the 2nd Revival Package, attempts to introduce the 2nd VRS and also to increase the working hours from 10 to 12 hours per day, etc., should be exposed and campaigned among the employees. The anti BSNL and pro-private policies of the government, various steps being taken by it to dismantle the public sector through disinvestment and privatisation should also be highlighted. All the circle and district unions are requested to successfully implement the “Meet the Employees Campaign”, from 06th to 13thSeptember, 2022.

Postal ballots to be exercised in the 9th membership verification- Corporate Office issues guidelines.

The Corporate Office has issued guidelines regarding the postal ballots to be exercised in the 9th membership verification. According to this letter, employees on deputation, training and the employees posted in the remote and difficult areas of Assam, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Lakshadweep are eligible to cast postal ballots. The concerned returning officer is empowered to approve the list of employees who can exercise postal ballots. The circle and district secretaries are requested to ensure the proper implementation of the guidelines contained in this letter.

The Extended Circle Executive Committee meeting of BSNLEU, Punjab circle, was held enthusiastically at Chandigarh today. Com. Sanjiv Kumar, Circle President, presided over the meeting. Com.H.S. Dhillon, Circle Secretary, welcomed everyone and initiated the discussion. Com.P.Abhimanyu,GS, garlanded and honoured the leaders and comrades who have recently joined BSNLEU. There after, the General Secretary addressed the meeting and spoke in detail about the issues related to BSNL’s revival, inordinate delay in BSNL’s 4G launching and the various aspects related to the 2nd Revival Package. The General Secretary also dwelt at length on the achievements of BSNLEU, during the past 3 years. Thereafter, deliberations by the Executive Committee members took place. Finally, Com.H.S. Dhillon, CS, delivered the summing up address. Senior leader, Com.Balwinder Singh, addressed the meeting and delivered the vote of thanks.

Countrywide Human Chain programme to be organised on 14.09.2022..

The Co-ordination Committee of BSNLEU, AIBDPA and BSNLCCWF has given call to organise countrywide Human Chain programme on 14.09.2022, opposing the National Monetisation Pipeline, the retrograde steps being taken by the Government to destroy the public sector, hurdles being created by the Government in BSNL’s 4G launching, the pro-private and anti-BSNL policies of the Government, etc., are to be highlighted in this Human Chain programme. This programme is to be organised in places where the public gather, like near the market place, bus stand, railway station, etc. Banners and Placards carrying slogans on the above issues should be displayed during the Human Chain.

Massive worker peasant convention held at New Delhi.

A Massive worker peasant convention was held in the Talkatora Indoor Stadium at New Delhi today. Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) and the All India Agricultural Workers Union (AIAWU) organised this convention. BSNLEU participated as an invitee. Comrades of BSNLEU participated in this Convention from Haryana, UP(East), UP(West) and Uttarakhand. A presidium consisting of Com.K. Hemalata, President, CITU, Com. Ashok Dhawale, President, AIKS and Com.Vijayaraghavan, President, AIAWU, presided over. Many burning issues of the workers, peasants and agricultural workers, were discussed in this meeting. The Convention passed a Declaration and 12 point charter of demands. The charter of demands include stopping of the privatisation of public sector undertakings, scrapping of the National Monetisation Pipeline, scraping of the 4 Labour Codes,   Rs.26,000/- Minimum Wage, Minimum Support Price for agricultural products and other demands. The Declaration adopted by the Convention in Hindi and English are enclosed.
