Hindi translation of "Disciplinary action taken by the All India Centre, to ensure democratic functioning in Chennai Telephones Circle."

Reliance Jio raises the tariff of it's most popular plan - A clear indication of the end of tariff war.

After the entry of Reliance Jio on 5th September last year, the incumbent telecom companies took a beating. All of them suffered drastic fall in their revenues. Even major telecom giants like Vodafone and Idea went into loss. BSNL also seriously suffered. Through it's tariff war, Reliance Jio wanted other telecom companies to close down their business, so that it would become a monopoly in the telecom sector and loot the people.

It is in pursuance of this strategy that, Reliance Jio continued with it's promotional offers, even beyond the prescribed 90 days period, of course with the tacit support of the TRAI and the government. But, the question is, how long Reliance Jio can continue with it's very low tariffs? We know that the management of Jio is answerable to it's share holders, regarding the mounting losses to the Company, and hence cannot continue with low tariffs for a long time. What we foresaw has proved to be correct. News has come now that, Reliance Jio has raised the tariff of it's most popular plan.

So far the plan was available for Rs.399 for 84 days. But, now the tariff will now be available only for Rs.459. Those subscribers who want to continue with the same rate will get the pack for 70 days instead. This change is effective from October 19th. This is a clear indication that, Jio cannot continue for long, with it's predatory pricings.

Deferment of salary of the employees.

BSNL, vide it’s letter no.16-4/2018/CB(P) dated 18.06.2018, communicated it’s decision to the field units to defer the dates of salary payment of the employees. BSNLEU strongly protested this, and conveyed it’s resentment to the CMD BSNL, vide it’s letter no. BSNLEU/ 401 (PAY) dated 25.06.2018. In that letter, BSNLEU has demanded that first the BSNL Management should implement austerity measures for the top officers and should also take prompt action to curtail wasteful expenditures, instead of deferring dates of the salary payment. BSNLEU has also expressed it’s protest for deferring the dates of the salary payment, without any discussion with the Recognised Unions. Consequently, the date of the salary payment was also not deferred in June, 2018. The date of the salary payment of July, 2018, was not deferred and the employees have got their salary yesterday, ie., on the last working day of July, 2018. We hope that in future also the Management will not venture to defer the date of the salary payment.

Hindi translation of "Slanderous poster, maligning General Secretary's Istanbul trip."

Remembering Mahatma Gandhi.

BSNLEU conveys best wishes and warm greetings to all, on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. One of the basic ambitions of Mahatma Gandhi is communal harmony. He taught us that India is a country, which belongs to the people of all the religions. Today, Mahatma Gandhi's preaching is being rejected. We are being told that, India belongs to the people of a particular religion. Mahatma Gandhi was shot dead by a religious fanatic. While celebrating the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, let us uphold his preaching and to do our best to strengthen communal harmony.

BSNLEU is continuously demanding that relaxation should be granted to the candidates of the JTO LICE held on 26.05.2019. This demand is raised since the question paper contained a sizable number of wrong and out of syllabus questions and also questions with multiple correct answers. The issue was continuously discussed with the Director (HR). However, no solution has come. Purwar, CMD BSNL yesterday and discussed this issue elaborately. The GS, BSNLEU, asserted that the candidates should not be punished for the blunders committed by the examiner. 1. Take immediate action on the lapsed LIC policies – General Secretary BSNLEU tells the CMD BSNL.

Due to the non-remittance of LIC premium money deducted from the salary of the employees, by the BSNL Management, the LIC has informed that the policies have since lapsed. BSNLEU has already written to the CMD BSNL on this matter. In his meeting held with Shri P.K. Purwar, CMD BSNL, yesterday, Com.P.Abhimanyu, GS, sought his intervention for the restoration of the lapsed LIC policies of the employees. The CMD BSNL assured that all needful actions would be taken and also stated that, if required, BSNL would also pay the interest to LIC, to restore the policies.

CEC members, district secretaries and interested comrades are requested to send suggestions for curtailing wasteful expenditure.

BSNL is in the midst of a serious financial problem. To overcome this, the Management is curtailing the existing facilities of the employees. As a matter of fact, a lot of wasteful expenditures are taking place at the All India, circle and district levels. These wasteful expenditures have got to be weeded out, so as to strengthen the financial condition of the Company. BSNLEU is taking the initiative on this account also. Soon a meeting will be held between the Director (Finance) and the unions and associations. Hence, CHQ calls upon our CEC members, district secretaries and all the interested comrades, to take out some time to find out what are all the wasteful expenditures that are taking place around us. Women in Kerala create history by forming 620 km long human wall.

The women of Kerala formed a historic 620 km. long human wall yesterday, opposing discrimination against women. The women’s wall was formed from Kasaragod in the North, up to Thiruvananthapuram in the South. The women’s wall was joined by various organizations, demanding equality to women. It is reported that around 50 lakh women participated in this human wall. At a time when fundamentalist forces are trying to take Kerala to the dark age, this movement by Kerala women is really praiseworthy. BSNLEU salutes all the women and their organisations who participated in this historic movement.
