It is shocking to know that masked goondas, armed with iron rods, sledgehammers, etc., have organised a brutal attack on the JNU students yesterday, inside the campus. 35 students have been injured seriously in the 3 hour attack. It is reported the students belonging to the Left Student Unions were targeted. 15 stitches are made on the injury sustained by the President of the JNU Students' Union. Even the teachers who came to protect the students have been attacked. The JNU Students Union has accused that police and security guards stood as silent spectators, when the attack took place. Recently, the JNU Students have organised massive struggles in Delhi, against the fee hike. The JNU students also remain in the forefront of the struggles presently taking place against the CAA. Hence, the attack on JNU students is an attempt to scare them from participating in democratic movements. It is an attempt to strangle the voice of democracy. BSNLEU strongly condemns this cowardly attack on the JNU students.
