They also drew the attention of the Director (HR) to another important issue of the struggle, viz., re-engagement of the retrenched contract workers. Each All India Conference of BSNLEU has been undoubtedly a milestone. But, the 9th All India Conference, held at Mysuru, is really unique. The Conference met at a time when rumour- mongers and mischief-makers were out to weaken BSNLEU. But, the 1,500 and odd delegates and observers assembled in the Conference, cool- headedly deliberated for three days in the delegates session and unwaveringly endorsed the strategy adopted by the leadership on all crucial issues. All decisions taken and resolutions passed are done with total unanimity. The conference has shown a clear-cut direction to the CHQ, in the matters of wage revision, revival of BSNL and strengthening of unity. The Mysuru Conference has once again established that, the leaders and cadres of BSNLEU are dedicated soldiers.

Shri S.K. Mishra, CGM, Karnataka circle, is already selected for the post of Director (CM). It is learnt that the Cabinet Committee on Appointments has given it’s approval for the selection of Shri S.K. Mishra. He is expected to join in his new post soon.
