During the past two / three decades, we have been witnessing what was happening in the health-care sector. The successive governments had systematically weakened the government hospitals and the government primary health centres, by cutting down the fund allotments. At the same time, private hospitals have come up in a big way. They were looting the people mercilessly. Their colourful advertisements were occupying our TV screens. But now, all of a sudden, we realise that only the government hospitals are coming to the rescue of the people, to fight the Corona Virus menace. In many places, the government is converting hotels and colleges into temporary hospitals. Reports say that, in Europe, where the Corona Virus disease is at it’s peak, the entire health care sector has been taken over by the government, at least temporarily. All these developments indicate that, in the days to come, the government health-care system has got a crucial role to play and hence, it should be strengthened. This is the lesson that the Corona Virus teaches us.
Leaders of BSNL unions and associations, submitted memorandum to Hon’ble MP, shri Anshul Verma, Hardoi.

K.K. Venugopal, the Attorney General of India, who is representing the Government of India in the Supreme Court, surprised every one yesterday, by openly expressing his disgust, at the failure of Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Delhi Governments, to take stern measures against mob violence. It is very important to note that Maharashtra and Rajasthan are ruled by the BJP governments, while the law and order in Delhi is being maintained by the Central Government. The Attorney General further said that no civilised country can tolerate mob violence. This remark was made by the Attorney General, before a Supreme Court Bench, consisting of Dipak Misra, Chief Justice of India, and Justices A.M. Khanwilkar and D.Y. Chandrachud. The Bench is hearing a public interest litigation against mob violence. The Judges, on their part remarked that, in the name of religion, no group can be permitted to indulge in violence.

Mukesh Ambani, the richest Indian, is using his financial muscle to finish off all other telecom companies, including BSNL, so that he can loot the people with high tariffs, after all other telecom companies are killed. The free voice calls and data being offered by Reliance Jio, is nothing but 'predatory tariff'. First, Reliance Jio offered a promotional offer, as 'welcome offer'. However, this promotional offer can be only for a period of 90 days from 5th November. But, once again Reliance Jio implemented another offer as 'Happy new year offer', which is valid till 31st March, 2017. The Happy New year offer is nothing but the extension of the Welcome Offer, but in a different name. This is a clear violation of norms. However, the TRAI, which is supposed to guard against predatory tariffs, has said that the Happy New year offer is not the extension of the welcome offer. This decision only shows the influence that Reliance Jio is having over the government and over the Regulator.

The State Bank of India has reported a net loss of Rs.4,876 crore for the first quarter of this financial year (for the period from April to June 2018). In the corresponding period of 2018, State Bank of India earned a net profit of Rs.2,006 crore. The reason behind the State Bank of India going into loss is bad loans. It is very important to note that during the period from April to June 2018, the State Bank of India has reported bad loans to the tune of Rs.26,249 crore. Most of these bad loans are related to the big corporates. It is not only the State Bank of India. Most of the government banks have gone into loss, because of these bad loans. Thus, public money, to the tune of lakhs of crores of rupees is being looted by the corporates. The government helps the corporates by writing off the bad loans of government banks.
