The year 2018, which has seen massive mobilisations of the BSNL employees under the banner of the AUAB, is coming to an end within the next few hours. In this year, we have successfully stopped the attempts of the government to break BSNL to pieces, by forming the Subsidiary Tower Company. Similarly, we have waged struggles against injustices in the matter of 3rd Pay Revision and the viability of BSNL. As a result, we have achieved substantial gains in ensuring allotment of 4G spectrum to BSNL, and implementation of government rule in Payment of Pension Contribution. We have also succeeded in forcing the government to agree for the delinking of Pension Revision of the retirees, from the Pay Revision of the serving employees. Certainly, our struggles will continue more vigorously in 2019, to settle the 3rd Pay Revision and to get justice for BSNL. With this positive note, let us bid good bye to 2018 and welcome 2019.

BSNLEU, NFTE, BSNL MS and TEPU have called on the BSNL employees to join the 2 day General Strike, that is taking place on 8th and 9th January, 2019. This is the 18th General Strike, being organised by the Indian working class, against the pro-coporate and anti-working class Neo- Liberal Economic Policies of the government. Stopping disinvestment and privatisation of the Public Sector, is one of the major objectives of this strike. Hence, BSNL employees should join this strike enmasse, to stop disinvestment and privatisation of BSNL in the days to come. The success of this General Strike is a must, to protect BSNL from privatisation in the days to come. Hence, the circle and district secretaries of BSNLEU are requested to effectively mobilise the employees for the Strike, by coordinating with NFTE, BSNL MS and TEPU.

BSNLEU, NFTE, BSNL MS और TEPU ने 8 और 9 जनवरी, 2019 को होने वाली 2 दिवसीय आम हड़ताल में बीएसएनएल कर्मियों को शामिल होने का आव्हान किया है। सरकार की कॉर्पोरेट परस्त और वर्किंग क्लास विरोधी नव उदारवादी नीतियों के खिलाफ भारत के मजदूर कर्मचारियों द्वारा की जा रही यह 18वीं आम हड़ताल है। पीएसयूज में विनिवेश और उनके निजीकरण पर रोक, इस हड़ताल का प्रमुख लक्ष्य है। इसलिए आनेवाले दिनों में बीएसएनएल में विनिवेश और निजीकरण को रोकने के लिए बीएसएनएल कर्मियों को व्यापक पैमाने पर इस हड़ताल में शामिल होना चाहिए। आगामी दिनों में निजीकरण से बीएसएनएल को बचाने के लिए हड़ताल की सफलता जरूरी है। इसलिए  BSNLEU के सभी सर्किल और डिस्ट्रिक्ट सेक्रेटरीज से अनुरोध है कि वें NFTE, BSNL MS और TEPU के लीडर्स से समन्वय स्थापित कर हड़ताल के लिए कर्मचारियों को संगठित करें।

Karnataka circle is organising the Circle level Joint General body meeting of the AUAB today, the 02.01.2019 at CGM Office Auditorium, Halasur, Bengaluru. Circle Secretaries, Dist. Secretaries, Presidents, CEC Members, All India Office bearers, as well as the general members of BSNLEU, NFTE BSNL, SNEA, AIBSNLEA, AIGETOA, BSNL MS, TEPU & ATM, are participating in this meeting.  In all, around 400 comrades are expected to take part in the meeting, to be addressed by Circle Secretaries and All India Office bearers of all the unions and associations. The details of the talks held between the Hon'ble MoS (C) and the AUAB on 03-12-2018, which resulted in the deferment of the Indefinite Strike will be explained in this meeting. CHQ of BSNLEU heartily congratulates the Karnataka circle AUAB for taking this initiative.

Explain the demands of the General Strike to be held on 08th and 9thJanuary, 2019.

BSNLEU, NFTE, BSNL MS and TEPU have called on the BSNL employees to join the two day General Strike, that is taking place on 08th and 9th January, 2019. With a view to mobilise the BSNL employees for the General Strike, and also to explain the charter of demands, it has been decided to organise Lunch Hour Demonstrations and Gate Meetings on 05.01.2019. Circle and district unions are requested to coordinate with NFTE, BSNL MS and TEPU, and to effectively organise the Lunch Hour Demonstrations and Gate Meetings. Reports and photos of the programme may be sent to the CHQ.

BSNLEU, NFTE, BSNL MS and TEPU have given a joint appeal to the BSNL employees for joining the 2 day General Strike, being held on 8th & 9th January, 2019. All the district unions must print this appeal in the form of leaflets, and the same should be distributed to each and every BSNL employee. The circle unions are requested to ensure this.

The women of Kerala formed a historic 620 km. long human wall yesterday, opposing discrimination against women. The women’s wall was formed from Kasaragod in the North, up to Thiruvananthapuram in the South. The women’s wall was joined by various organizations, demanding equality to women. It is reported that around 50 lakh women participated in this human wall. At a time when fundamentalist forces are trying to take Kerala to the dark age, this movement by Kerala women is really praiseworthy. BSNLEU salutes all the women and their organisations who participated in this historic movement.

It is a matter of great encouragement that, apart from Reliance Jio, there is only one company which increased it's customers in October, 2018, and that company is BSNL. All other companies in the Indian telecom sector have lost their customers. According to the TRAI report, only Jio and BSNL increased their customers in Oct.2018. Jio added 1 crore customers, while BSNL increased 3.66 lakh customers.  BSNL's customer addition may look small, compared to the addition made by Reliance Jio. But, BSNL's performance is a very big achievement, compared to the performance of Vodafone which has lost a massive 73.61 lakh customers. Airtel has lost 18.64 lakh customers, Tata Tele Services has lost 9.25 lakh customers, MTNL has lost 8,068 customers, and RCom has lost 3,831 customers. All these companies have lost a whopping 1.01 crore customers.

In the meeting held with Hon’ble MoS(C) on 03.12.2018, the AUAB was assured that an Institutional Mechanism would be put in place to monitor the implementation of the decisions taken. Accordingly, the AUAB was informed late in the evening yesterday that, a meeting would be held today. Since, the General Secretaries of BSNLEU, NFTE and AIBSNLEA are out of Delhi, the AUAB has requested the DoT to hold the meeting next week. Accordingly, the first meeting of the Institutional Mechanism is expected to be held next week.

अक्टूबर 2018 में केवल जिओ और बीएसएनएल ने अपनी ग्राहक संख्या में वृद्धि की..

यह बेहद उत्साहवर्धक खबर है कि अक्टूबर 2018 में अपनी ग्राहक संख्या में रिलायंस जियो के अलावा अगर किसी कंपनी ने वृद्धि की है तो वह कंपनी बीएसएनएल है।भारतीय दूरसंचार क्षेत्र की अन्य सभी कंपनियों ने अपने ग्राहकों को खोया है। ट्राई की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार अक्टूबर 2018 में केवल जिओ और बीएसएनएल ने ही अपनी ग्राहक संख्या में वृद्धि की है। जिओ ने 1 करोड़ ग्राहक जोड़े हैं, वहीं बीएसएनएल ने 3.66 लाख ग्राहक बढ़ाएं हैं। हालांकि, रिलायंस जिओ द्वारा जोड़ी गई ग्राहक संख्या की तुलना में बीएसएनएल द्वारा जोड़ी गई ग्राहकों की संख्या कम जरूर प्रतीत होती है, किन्तु बीएसएनएल का परफॉरमेंस एक बड़ी उपलब्धि है, विशेष रूप से वोडाफोन के परफॉरमेंस की तुलना में जिसने अपने 73.61 लाख ग्राहकों को खोया है। एयरटेल ने 18.64 लाख ग्राहक, टाटा टेली सर्विसेस ने 9.25 लाख ग्राहक, एमटीएनएल ने 8068 और आर कॉम ने 3831 ग्राहकों को खोया है। इन सभी कंपनियों ने कुल 1.01 करोड़ की बड़ी संख्या में अपने ग्राहकों को खोया है।

620 km की मानव दीवार (Human Wall) बना कर केरल की महिलाओं ने इतिहास रचा.
महिलाओं के साथ भेदभाव के विरोध में 01.01.2019 को केरल की महिलाओं ने 620 km लंबी ऐतिहासिक मानव दीवार बनाई। यह मानव दीवार उत्तर में स्थित कासरगोड से दक्षिण में स्थित तिरुअनंतपुरम तक बनाई गई। महिलाओं के लिए समानता की मांग करते हुए बनाई गई इस दीवार की निर्मिति में कई संगठन सहभागी हुए। इस मानव दीवार हेतु, एक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, 50 लाख महिलाएं शामिल हुईं। ऐसे समय में, जब कट्टरपंथी ताकतें केरल को तमोयुग (dark age) की ओर ले जाने हेतु प्रयासरत हैं, वहीं केरल की महिलाओं का यह आंदोलन निःसंदेह प्रशंसनीय है। बीएसएनएल एम्प्लॉईज यूनियन उन सभी महिलाओं को और उनके संगठन को सैल्यूट करती है जिन्होंने इस ऐतिहासिक आंदोलन में शिरकत की।

The AUAB, Karnataka circle organised a huge joint GB meeting at Bengaluru on 2^nd January 2019. Around 300 comrades attended. Com.A.C.Krishna Reddy, Chairman, AUAB, presided. Com.C.K. Gundanna, Convenor, welcomed all and briefed about the importance and necessity of holding the General Body meeting of AUAB. Com.K.S. Sheshadri, Dy.Gen.Secretary, NFTE BSNL, Com.H.V. Sudharshan, Dist.Secretary, BSNLEU, BGTD, Com. S.P. Jagadale, CS, SNEA, Com. S.K. Hiremath, CS, AIBSNLEA, Com.S.S. Prasad, CS BSNL MS, Com. Chandan, ACS AIGETOA and Com.Raghu, All India Org.Secretary, ATM, addressed the house and explained in detail about the decisions taken in the meeting held between the Hon'ble MoS(C) and the AUAB on 03-12-2018, based on which the Indefinite Strike has been deferred.

A massive Convention was organised at Kolkata, to mobilise the employees for the 2 day General Strike, to be held on 8th and 9th January, 2019. It was held in CTO Institute Hall. The Convention was jointly organised by BSNLEU, NFTE and NUBSNLW (FNTO)  Com. Sisir Kumar Roy CS BSNLEU CTD Circle, Com. Aloke Nandi, CS, FNTO and Com. Tapan Biswas, CS, NFTE presided over the convention. The Convention was addressed by Com. Anadi Sahoo, GS, CITU WB, Com. Kamarujjaman kamar, President, INTUC,WB, Com.Animesh Mitra, President, BSNLEU and Com. Sekhar Majumdar, CS, CTD, NFTE. All the speakers appealed to the employees to make the strike a grand success to save BSNL and  to save the Public Sector.

BSNLEU, NFTE, BSNL MS and TEPU have already called on the BSNL employees to organise lunch hour demonstrations and gate meetings tomorrow, the 05-01-2019. This programme has been called on, with the view to mobilise the employees for the 2 day General Strike to be held on 8th and 9th January, 2019, against the anti- working class and anti-people policies of the government. CHQ calls upon the circle and district secretaries to effectively organise the demonstrations and gate meetings tomorrow, in coordination with NFTE, BSNL MS and TEPU.

With the view to mobilise the employees for the two day General Strike to be organised on 08^th & 09^th January, 2019, BSNLEU, NFTE, BSNL MS and TEPU had given call for organising lunch hour demonstrations and gate meetings today. Accordingly, the programme is observed throughout the country today. As has already been reported, the DoT has already prepared a Cabinet Note, for the allotment of 4G spectrum to BSNL, and has sent it for Inter-ministerial consultation. Under these circumstances, some media has reported that the Niti Aayog has objected to the allotment of 4G spectrum to BSNL. This news is being extensively circulated in the social media. If this news is correct, the AUAB will definitely take the necessary steps for getting 4G spectrum to BSNL. Comrades are requested not to become panicky.
