In India, 82% Male And 92% Female Workers Earn Less Than Rs.10,000 Per Month.

As per the ‘State of Working India 2018’ report’, the country has the highest rate of unemployment in 20 years. According to the report released by the Centre for Sustainable Employment of the Azim Premji University, shockingly, 82% of male and 92% per cent of female workers earn less than ₹10,000 a month. It is very important to note that, ₹18,000 per month is the minimum salary recommended by the Seventh Central Pay Commission. This suggests that a large majority of Indians are not being paid, what may be termed as living wage. In the 1970s and 1980s, when GDP growth was around 3-4%, employment growth was around 2% per annum. Since the 1990s, and particularly in the 2000s, GDP growth has accelerated to 7% but employment growth has slowed to 1% or even less.

Let us achieve the target of providing 36 lakh FTTH connections in 2018-19

Today, com. P. Abhimanyu, GS, raised this issue with shri A.K. Jain, CGM NC NGN. He replied that the BSNL Management has already taken action to overcome short supply of equipments. For providing 36 lakh FTTH connections, Management has taken many steps. Further, for the last mile, cable operators are being roped in. All circle and district unions are requested to take all steps, to ensure that the target of giving 36 lakh FTTH lines are achieved in 2018-19.
