So far, the qualifying marks for JE training was 35% for OC ; 30% for OBC and 20% for SC/ST. However, the ALTTC Ghaziabad has arbitrarily changed this and has increased the qualifying marks to 50% for all categories of candidates. This is a very big injustice and totally unwarranted. BSNLU has written a letter to the CMD BSNL today, demanding to immediately withdraw the increase in the qualifying marks  of JE training.

EPFO has fixed 03-05-2023 as the last date for filing application for higher  pension. However, today, the EPFO has extended this deadline up to 26-06-2023.  The EPFO has stated that, the timeline is being extended to facilitate and provide ample opportunity to the pensioners / members, so as to to ease out any difficulty faced by them. All concerned comrades are requested to make note of this extension of time limit. ईपीएफओ ने उच्च पेंशन-Higher Pension के लिए आवेदन दाखिल करने की अंतिम तिथि 03-05-2023 निर्धारित की है । हालांकि आज ईपीएफओ ने इस *समयसीमा को बढ़ाकर 26-06-2023 कर दिया है ।* ईपीएफओ ने कहा है कि, पेंशनभोगियों/सदस्यों को सुविधा प्रदान करने और उन्हें पर्याप्त अवसर प्रदान करने के लिए समय सीमा बढ़ाई जा रही है, ताकि उनके सामने आने वाली किसी भी कठिनाई को दूर किया जा सके । सभी संबंधित साथियों से अनुरोध है कि समय सीमा के इस विस्तार को नोट करें। ईपीएफओ द्वारा आज जारी प्रेस बयान सदस्यों की जानकारी के लिए यहां संलग्न है ।

 As per the decision of the All India Centre of BSNLEU, black badge wearing lunch hour protest demonstrations were organised throughout the country today, condemning the withdrawal of recognition of NFPE and AIPEU, Group ‘C’. The angry demonstrators condemned the anti-democratic and anti-trade union action of the Government / Postal Department and demanded immediate restoration of recognition to NFPE and AIPEU, Group ‘C’. CHQ heartily congratulates all the circle and district unions for successfully organising the protest demonstrations within a very short notice .  

On 21.04.2023, a bill was passed in the Tamil Nadu State Assembly, to amend the Factories Act, for increasing the working hours in factories from 8 hours to 12 hours. There was severe opposition to this amendment even from the alliance partners of the ruling DMK. All the Central Trade Unions announced one day strike in Tamil Nadu on 12.05.2023, against the amendment. Under these circumstances, Shri M.K. Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, while addressing a May Day meeting at Chennai yesterday, announced that the amendment passed to increase the working hours is withdrawn.

The Postal Department has undemocratically withdrawn the recognition of NFPE and AIPEU, Group ‘C’ Union, based on the bogus allegation of giving political donations. Withdrawing the recognition of the two major postal trade unions on frivolous charges is a direct attack on the trade union rights of the postal employees. The All India Centre of BSNLEU has decided to organise black badge wearing lunch hour protest demonstrations on 02.05.2023, demanding immediate restoration of recognition to NFPE and AIPEU, Group ‘C’. As per the call of the CHQ of BSNLEU, May Day is organised enthusiastically throughout the country today. The day is observed by organising flag hoisting, special meetings and rallies. Some of the views of the May Day are reproduced below.

Com.Ramesh Chand, Office Superintendent (P), Naraul, Haryana, as well as former Organising Secretary (CHQ) of BSNLEU, retired on superannuation on 29.04.2023. He entered the DoT as an RTP in 1983 and was regularised in 1986. He served as the District Secretary of BSNLEU, Rewari district, from 2005 up to 2021. Com.Ramesh Chand was elected as the Organising Secretary of the All India Union in the Chennai All India Conference held in 2016. Again, he got reelected as Organising Secretary (CHQ) in the Mysuru All India Conference held in 2018. During his tenure as the CHQ office bearer, Com.Ramesh Chand frequently came to the CHQ and assisted in the functioning of the All India Union. On his retirement, Com.Ramesh Chand has announced a donation of Rs.51,000/- to the CHQ. We heartily thank Com.Ramesh Chand for the donation and wish him a long happy and healthy retired life.     

The Postal Department has undemocratically withdrawn, the recognition of NFPE and P3 union on 26-04-2023. Both these unions are having a paid membership of 70% among the postal employees of this country. They are spearheading struggles against the attempts of the government to convert the Postal Department into a corporation and to subsequently hand it over to the private / corporates. Withdrawal of the Recognition of NFPE and P-3 Union, is nothing but a blatant attack on the trade union rights. It is the conspiracy of the government to silence the trade unions which are fighting against the sell-out of the Postal Department. The Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers has already called on the employees to organise black badge wearing protest lunch hour demonstrations on 02-05-2023. The All India Centre meeting of BSNLEU, held online at 15:00 hrs today, has unanimously decided to call on the employees to organise powerful black badge wearing lunch hour protest demonstrations on 02.05.2023. All the circle and district unions are requested to mobilise maximum number of employees in this protest action.

The MoU signed between BSNL Management and Oriental Insurance Company is valid upto 30.04.2023. However, complaints are being received that, Oriental Insurance Company has stopped approving cashless treatment facility to the insured employees. Hence, BSNLEU has written a complaint to the GM (Admn.), BSNL Corporate Office, yesterday. Based on this, the Admn. Branch of the Corporate Office has written letter to Oriental Insurance Company, telling them to honour the MoU. 

Com.Tapan Sen, General Secretary, CITU, has issued a strong statement against the derecognition of NFPE and P-3 Union on frivolous grounds. He has stated that, NFPE and P-3 Union, which are having 70% membership among the postal employees, are consistently fighting against the efforts of the government to corporatise the Postal Department and subsequently to privatise it. Hence, the derecognition of NFPE and P-3 Union is nothing but revengeful action against these organisations which are fighting to protect the interests of the postal employees. Com.Tapan Sen has demanded immediate restoration of Recognition to NFPE and P-3 Union.
