Era of free voice calls is over - Jio will charge 6 paisa per minute for calls going to other mobile operators.

Reliance Jio, which introduced unlimited free voice calls, has decided to charge it’s customers  6 paisa per minute, for the calls going to other mobile operators. In a statement issued yesterday, Jio has announced that it is compelled to charge 6 paisa per minute, since it has to pay hefty IUC charge to other operators. In the statement, Jio has also stated that, it had paid Rs.13,500 crores as IUC charges to other operators, during the last 3 years. Whatever may be the reason, the era of giving unlimited free voice calls to the customers is gone. Charging 6 paisa per minute is undoubtedly a steep increase in the tariff. This development indicates that the brutal tariff war unleashed by Reliance Jio, to eliminate other operators, has come to an end. The Reliance Jio has been forced to raise it’s tariff and naturally, this will be followed by the other operators also.

BSNLEU, Vijaynagar Branch, Bengaluru Telecom District, sets an example.

Telecommunications is an essential service like Health Care, Electricity and Water Supply. These services have to remain operational, so that people do not suffer. Hence, BSNL's field staff have to work, to keep our networks operational. In this process, the danger of our staff getting infected with Corona Virus is very much there. So, taking care of the health of our employees is as important as keeping our networks operational. Keeping this in mind, the Vijaynagar Branch of BSNLEU, Bengaluru Telecom District, has come out with the programme of supplying masks to the field staff, providing sanitisers in the CSC and displaying a banner to educate the customers as to what they should. CHQ congratulates the comrades of Vijaynagar, BGTD and Karnataka circle. CHQ desires that our entire comrades throughout the country should take similar proactive steps. This is the need of the hour, to help the nation.

The Sunday drama.

The GM(SR), BSNL Corporate Office, telephonically informed the GS, BSNLEU, at 10:00 hrs. yesterday, ie., on 28-10-2018 Sunday, that there would be a meeting between the Secretary, DoT and the representatives of the AUAB, at 10:30 hrs on 29-10-2018, to discuss the issues on which the AUAB has given call for agitation. However, once again the GM(SR), BSNL CO, contacted the GS,BSNLEU, at 13:30 hrs, and informed that, the Secretary, DoT, wanted to hold the meeting on 28-10-2018 itself and that, the meeting could not be organised due to the communication gap. Surprisingly, a letter was issued by the Corporate Office yesterday evening, stating that the meeting between the AUAB and the Secretary,DoT, could not take place on 28-10-2018, due to the non-availability of the AUAB leaders for the meeting. The DoT and the BSNL Management do not care to inform the AUAB leaders suffficiently in advance about the meeting. They want to hold the meeting by giving information to the AUAB leaders in the last minute. But, still, they want to make the AUAB leaders scape goats for the fiasco.

Hindi translation of "Massive March to Sanchar Bhawan on 05.04.2019."

The government takes step for more looting of people's money, by big corporates.

Recently, finance minister, Arun Jaitley announced a scheme of "Capital Infusion" of Rs.2.11 lakh crores, to the Public Sector banks. An impression is being created that the government banks are not performing well, as a result of which the government is spending a huge amount of the people's tax money, to save those "sarkari banks". But, what is the fact? The Public Sector banks are suffering from a very big disease of "bad loans" which is also called as "Non-Performing Assets". What is this? This is the loan amount not returned by the big corporates. According to estimates, this amount comes to more than Rs. 10 lakh crores. The government should have taken action to realise this amount from the corporates. But, the government has not taken any such action. Rather, during it's 3 year rule, the BJP government has "written off" Rs. 2 lakh crores of this bad loans. Now, the government is putting Rs. 2 lakh crores of the people's money into the Public Sector banks. It is very important also to note what the Finance Minister told. Ha said that, this "capital infusion" will enable the Public Sector banks to give further loans to corporates, which will help fresh investments, employment and economic growth. So, the whole intention of the government in infusing Rs. 2.11 lakh crores into Public Sector banks, is to help the corporates to get further loans from the Public Sector banks. There cannot be a better way for the government, to allow the big corporates to loot people's money. When the government will take action to confiscate the properties of those corporates, who have cheated the government banks?
