The AUAB has given call to the BSNL employees, to organise demonstrations throughout the country tomorrow the 11.07.2018, demanding implementation of the assurances given by the Hon’ble Minister of State for Communications on 24.02.2018, with regards to the settlement of wage revision, pension revision, allotment of 4G spectrum and payment of pension contribution as per Government Rules. At the circle level, these demonstrations should be organised in front of the offices of the CCA. All circle secretaries are requested to organise this programme successfully, in coordination with the other constituents of the AUAB.
The CMD BSNL and Director HR met the AUAB leaders yesterday the 15.02.2019. The AUAB representatives told the Management that, they are prepared to accept 3rd Pay Revision with 5% fitment, as offered earlier by the DoT. However, they demanded that this commitment should be given in writing by the DoT, so that the AUAB can consider deferment of the strike. Even this demand of the AUAB is not accepted. Further, the DoT has also diluted it's earlier assurance to give DA neutralisation. The DoT is demanding that the AUAB should call off the strike, in view of the terror attack in Pulwama. The Secretary, Telecom, has put a condition that she would not meet the AUAB leaders, unless they call off the strike. Immediately after the meeting with the BSNL Management, all the General Secretaries of the AUAB met and decided to go ahead with the strike. The AUAB has also decided to exempt J&K circle from the strike, to ensure maintenance of services, in the backdrop of the terror attack. The AUAB requests all the circle and district unions to organise the strike powerfully..
The Department of Posts, called as India Post, has reported a loss of Rs.15,000 crore for the financial year 2018-19. It's loss in 2015-16 was Rs.6,007 crore.
The BSNL is undergoing severe financial crunch. Various false reports are appearing in the media, stating that the government is going to give a bail out package to BSNL and MTNL, to the extent of Rs.74,000 crore. This news is nothing but totally bogus. What BSNL is likely to get from the government is, the allotment of 4G spectrum, free of cost. Apart from this, the government is not going to give even a single naya paisa as financial assistance to BSNL. Banks are also not coming forward to extend loan to BSNL. This is the actual position. So, the only option left out for the BSNL is to take all out efforts to increase it’s revenue collections. The AUAB has already called on the Executives and Non-Executives to intensify the “BSNL At Your Door Steps” programme. Hence, the circle and district secretaries of BSNLEU are requested to take the initiative and also to coordinate with the other unions and associations, to effectively implement the call. More revenue has to be generated through bringing in more FTTH connections, collection of outstanding dues and disposing off of the scrap materials dumped in various circles. The BSNL employees have rose to the occasion many times in the past, to save the Company. In the similar way, the BSNL employees have to conduct the "BSNL At Your Doorsteps" programme in an intensified manner, to save the future of the Company and it's employees.
The outcome of the talks held yesterday, between the AUAB and the Director (HR), is not at all satisfactory. Only assurance given is that, salary will be paid on 28th. Then what about November salary? No answer. Most importantly, there is no improvement on the issue of remittance of recoveries, which is hurting the employees the most. Similarly, no improvement on contract workers' wages. No improvement in any of the problems related to the VRS optees. What about reduction of retirement age to 58 years? What is the assurance on 30% superannuation benefit? The BSNL Management is only trying to save their skin, but not worried about the problems of the employees. However, there is no unanimity among the constituents of the AUAB to go ahead with the 3 day hunger strike. Hence, the 3 day hunger strike from 20th November, 2019 stands postponed. BSNLEU will decide about the future course of action and inform shortly.
BSNLEU and AIBDPA, Dindigul branch of Madurai district provided provisions worth Rs.35,000/- to 48 contract workers. Com.Vaithialinga Boopathy & Com.Suseela Mary, BSNLEU, Com.B.John Borjia, AIBDPA and Com.Ganapathi, AIIEA, distributed materials to the contract workers.

Office bearers of BSNLEU, AIBDPA and AIIEA participated in these programme. At Gingee, Com.R. Krishnamurthi, has contributed 15 bags of rice (each 25 kgs.) to the contract workers.
At a time when the crude oil price is very low in the international market, the prices of petrol and diesel keep on sky-rocketing in India. In the last 18 days alone, both the price of petrol, and the price of diesel have increased by more than Rs.10/- per litre.
In January, 2018 the price of diesel at Delhi was Rs.61.74 in Delhi. In one and half years the price has increased by Rs.18/-. Petrol cost Rs.79.76 per litre at Delhi today and diesel cost Rs.79.88 per litre. The one person who is most benefited by the hiking of prices of petrol and diesel, by the Narendra Modi government, is Mukesh Ambani. He is controlling a big share in India's Petro-chemical industry. It may be recollected that recently Mukesh Ambani jumped into the club of 10 richest persons in the world. He is the 9th richest person in the world now.
The Kerala circle union of BSNLEU, organised state- wide demonstrations yesterday, against the atrocious hiking of prices of petrol and diesel. CHQ congratulates the Kerala circle union.
Leaders of BSNL unions and associations submitted memorandum to shri Mohanbhai Kundaria, Hon’ble MP and former Minister.

BSNL Management is organising the function at Corporate Office on 11.07.2018, to distribute Sanchar Sree Awards. The Hon’ble Minister of State, Shri Manoj Sinha, is participating in this function. To facilitate the peaceful conducting of this award giving ceremony, to the meritorious employees of BSNL, the AUAB has decided to hold the demonstration at Corporate Office on 12.07.2018, instead of 11.07.2018. As regards, the demonstrations at circle level, it would be organised on 11.07.2018, as per the schedule.
The AUAB strongly condemns the detention of two BSNL officers in the Dumka district of Jharkhand circle. Based on the complained given by the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, that the data download speed of BSNL is not satisfactory, the Dumka police have taken a Divisional Engineer and a Sub-Divisional Engineer of BSNL into custody. They have been kept in the police station for more than 5 hrs. and were abused for the unsatisfactory service of BSNL. The employees of BSNL cannot and should not be treated in this manner, if the Company’s service is not satisfactory. Starvation deaths are taking place in Jharkhand. What action is to be taken against the Chief Minister of Jharkhand? The AUAB will write to the Prime Minister and Minister of State for Communications, demanding appropriate action on this matter.
