The Odisha Circle Executive Committee meeting was held online today. Com.P.Abhimanyu, GS, Com.Animesh Mitra, President and Com.John Verghese, AGS, attended it from the All India Union. The meeting was presided over by Com.S.C. Bhattacharya, Circle President. Com.S.R. Das, CS, briefly presented the report on activities. Totally, 21 comrades participated in the meeting. Com.P.Abhimanyu, GS, delivered  the inaugural address, wherein he explained the road-blocks being created in the revival of BSNL, by delaying BSNL’s 4G launching. He also explained about the attacks on the public sector, and on the labour rights, by the Modi government. Com.John Verghese, AGS, briefly addressed the meeting and explained about the depth of the financial crisis that the country is undergoing currently. The comrades who participated in the deliberations expressed their serious concern about the non-payment of  wages to the contract workers, as well as their retrenchment. They also expressed their unhappiness about the deteriorating quality of BSNL’s services in Odisha circle, after the commencement of outsourcing of the maintenance works. Finally, Com.P.Abhimanyu, GS, replied to the issues raised by the comrades. Com.S.R. Das, CS, summed up the discussions and delivered the vote of thanks.
